Class Description
Discover how ice has changed Alaska over time in this fun science workshop and field trip combo! We'll learn "cool" facts about how glaciers form, move, and carve out the landscape. Hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations will have students moving like a glacier and carving out valleys. Students will love exploring glacial features on a beautiful geology walk at the Eagle River Nature Center!
Designed for grade levels 3- 6
Classroom sessions at MSC: Oct. 24, 25 and 26 (10:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
Field Trip Itinerary on October 27:
9:15 AM - Check in at MSC
9:30 AM - School bus departs MSCS
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Eagle River Nature Center activities
12:00 - 12:30 PM - Sack Lunch
1:30 PM - Estimated arrival back at MSC
Cost: $50 includes all materials and field trip (the cost of this workshop will be automatically deducted from the student allotment)
