Dino's of Alaska!

Event Description

Join Mat- Su Central School on a field trip to the Museum of Science and Nature where students will enjoy hands-on exploration of Alaska’s dinosaur finds! Students will handle life-like Dino replicas of bones, teeth, claws and eggs. Explore the different types of dinosaur artifacts found in Alaska! Recommended for grades 1-3

• Hadrosaurs

• Ceretopsians

• Large & small carnivores including Albertosaurs(Alaska’s variety of T. Rex)

• Raptors

• Marine reptiles and flying pterosaurs that lived in Alaska alongside the dinosaurs

• A replica of the pterosaur with a 32-foot wingspan that was found in Denali Park

  • Field Trip Itinerary: Tuesday, March 24
  • 9:25 AM - Check in at Mat-Su Central School
  • 9:30 AM-  Board the school bus and depart MCS.
  • 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM - Dino lesson and tour at the Museum of Science and Nature
  • 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Scavenger Hunt 
  • 12:00 -12:30- Sack lunch (MCS will provide snacks. Students will provide their own sack lunch)
  • 12:30 PM- Depart the museum
  • 1:30 PM - Arrive back at MCS

Note: Families have the option of meeting us there or riding the school bus.

Student Cost: $35 per student. The price of this trip will be automatically deducted from the students allotment.

Adult Cost: $8 per adult. The cost of one adult can be deducted from the student allotment.
