As a model of excellence in personalized education, MSC partners with over 300 Alaska businesses, offering a rich assortment of learning opportunities for students.
(Officially referred to as a Professional Services Contract) As a Direct Pay Instructional Partner you bill MSC for student services & supplies and MSC in turn, pays you directly.
A reimbursement is money paid back to parents out of their student’s allotment for items or services they have purchased out of pocket.
These links will help you get started and manage your vendor contract with MSC.
Instructional Receipt: MSC provides an Instructional Receipt form as a courtesy to our Instructional Partners.
Alaska State Business License: All Instructional Partners operating in the state of Alaska must maintain a current state business license for our files. You may apply or renew your Alaska Business License online.
Mat-Su Borough Business License: This license is only required if you are operating within the borough. You may apply and renew your MSB Business License online.
Interested Persons Report (Background Check): All instructors must provide an Interested Persons Report (IPR) or an equivalent form of background check. An IPR is valid for two years; after which time, you will need to provide an updated IPR to remain current in our system. You can procure an IPR directly from the Alaska State Troopers either online or in person.
Becoming a successful Instructional Partner starts with getting connected and knowing what resources and services are available. Here are some important tips:
Stay in Touch: Every new school year, we work hard to keep your vendor status active & advertise your services on our website (if you choose). To do this, we must maintain up-to-date records. Send in copies of your new licenses when you update them with the state or borough. Email records to Gena.Chastain@matsuk12.us
Bookmark the Calendar: Stay informed about MSC to support your students. Track MSC’s Academic calendar online for upcoming reimbursement deadlines and important dates.
Stay Connected: If you’re not already receiving our free monthly e-newsletter, email Gena Chastain and sign-up to have MSC news sent to your inbox each month. Read about student engagement, on campus opportunities, plus highlights of vendor services, and more.
Follow us on Social Media: Follow us on FB and discover what’s happening in the homeschool community. Email us your flyers & advertisements and we will post them on MSC’s Facebook Page, Twitter and Instagram.
Classroom Space: We offer complimentary classroom space (when available). Contact MSC Gena Chastain for more information.
Capturing Kids Hearts: Your contribution to school climate and connectedness is valuable to our students and staff. That is why we provide training to build genuine, positive relationships with students and families.
Ask Questions: We’re here to help whenever you have a question. Call MSC Community Liaison at: 907-352-7457
At MSC, families have many options when it comes to reimbursable vendor instruction and how they engage their education. Whatever mode or combination of instruction you prefer, we are here to help you navigate and plot your own path.
In some cases, our extensive list of vetted instructional partners is not enough, and parents need or want other options. Some of those choices may include online (Zoom) and in- person instruction outside of Alaska.
Consult with your advisor if you are considering out of state vendor options. We are here to help. A completed waiver must be in place prior to reimbursements.
