Event Description

Join us at the Eagle River Nature Center as we dive into the fascinating world of our feathered friends and discover the incredible journeys they take each year. Students will learn all about bird migration — where birds go, how they navigate, and why Alaska plays such an important role in their seasonal travels. Through hands-on exploration and outdoor discovery, we’ll uncover the amazing survival strategies that keep these winged travelers on course.

  • April 1, 2026 Itinerary:
  • 9:00 AM- Check-in at Mat-Su Central School 
  • 9:15 AM - Depart Mat-Su Central School 
  • 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM - Eagle River Nature Center
  • 12:00 - 12:30 PM - Sack lunch
  • 12:30 - 1:30 PM - Eagle River Nature Center
  • 1:30 PM - Depart Eagle River Nature Center
  • 2:30 PM - ETA AT Mat-Su Central School 

Don't want to ride the school bus? Families have the option of meeting us there. 

Special Instructions: Please dress for the weather as most of this activity will be outside. Bring a sack lunch and water bottle.
