Class Description
Semester 2 Art 2055 is designed for students who have shown skill in visual design and engaged interest in developing school culture. This ‘place-based’ class is designed to connect students to their local school community and environment. We will be creating work that expresses Mat-Su Central’s values and enhances the beauty of our new location at 2055 Stringfield. Students will be collaborating on murals and installation pieces that may include functional projects such as picnic tables and bike racks. Students will often be working outside so please be prepared for weather.
Some highlight projects for this class are are custom murals, prom decor, and outdoor painting. Projects may also include:
Daily sketches
Collaborative games & projects
Painting outdoor light post bases
EVA foam raven wing installation
Birch tree carpet rolls
Painting metal stools
Student concert/play set design
Seasonal window paintings
Lanscape art
*Optional Independent Studio Thursdays 1-3: Students may use this time to work on projects.
