Families of Mat-Su Central,
We have officially entered what we like to call the month of “Marchaprilmay” — that stretch of the year when the calendar suddenly speeds up and the finish line of the school year comes into view. Hang on tight! Friendly reminder that grades for K-11 students are due May 13.
As always, check out our full calendar and website for the most up to date information, including Prom on April 10!
Upcoming MCS 101s
Do you know someone interested in learning more about Mat-Su Central? We are hosting orientation sessions this April, and families are welcome to attend on any of the following dates (no registration required):
- April 9 at 1pm
- April 23 at 1pm
- May 7 at 1pm
These sessions are a great opportunity to learn about how our program works and ask questions.
Hybrid School FAQs
Many of you are already thinking ahead to on-site classes at the Hybrid Learning Academy next school year, and we appreciate your patience as we finalize details. Due to several moving factors, our course schedule is running a little later than usual. We expect to have the schedule available before the end of the school year.
In the meantime, here is some general information you can use as a reference point as you begin to plan for the 2026-27 school year.
Withdrawal and/or Returning Materials
If you have curriculum or supplies that your student is no longer using, please feel free to return them. We are always glad to pass along gently used materials to other families.
If you plan to withdraw from MCS at the end of the school year, please complete the following steps:
1) Submit ALL reimbursement requests through the Parent Portal PRIOR to withdrawing to avoid closure of your allotment account.
2) Complete a Withdrawal Request Form.
3) Return all non-consumable curriculum materials, computers, musical instruments, equipment to the front office; please label with student name. If interested in purchasing eligible equipment and/or materials, review with the Curriculum Specialist.
Reminders From the Accounting Department
- May 1: All receipts dated January 1 – April 30 must be submitted. This deadline also applies to graduating seniors’ reimbursements.
- May 15: All sibling allotment transfer requests must be submitted, including for graduating students.
- Jun 1: Submit reimbursement requests for education expenses from May 1 – May 30. Purchases made during June (including summer camps and clinics) may be reimbursed after the student’s ILP meeting in the following school year.
- Summer Camp Reimbursements:
- If paid before May 31 and the camp occurs before June 30: Submit the receipt in ParentVue by June 1.
- If paid before May 31 but the camp occurs after July 1: Hold the receipt and submit it after your ILP meeting next school year.
- If paid on or after June 1: Hold the receipt and submit it after your ILP meeting next school year.
- To help improve reimbursement turnaround time, the Accounting team will now offer parent drop-in hours from 12:00–3:00 PM, Monday through Friday for families who would like in-person assistance.
