On-Site Hybrid Learning Questions

We know families have had questions about this year’s Hybrid Learning opportunities. Here are some important clarifications:

• Can we still request Hybrid classes? 
  
  • Yes! If you have not yet requested classes, or would like to explore additional options, there are still openings. An updated list of available Hybrid offerings and class request form is available HERE. 
• What if we no longer want a class? 
  
  • If your student is enrolled in a Hybrid class that you no longer wish to attend, please complete our Hybrid Class Drop Form. Submitting the form helps us keep our rosters accurate and may open a spot for another student.
• Can I drop my student off or do I need to be at the school? 
  
  • Students in grades K–8 may be dropped off for their scheduled class but must have a parent or guardian present during any time they are not in class. High school students may remain at MCS independently as long as they can manage themselves appropriately and follow school expectations. 
• What if I have a question about a class? 
  
  • Visit our Hybrid Offerings page. For questions related to a specific course, feel free to reach out directly to the relevant teacher.
  • For questions about the Hybrid course request process: Contact Kristina Magner, Mat-Su Hybrid Counselor.

Allotment Resources

Alaska Safe Children’s Act Resources

• Alaska schools provide age-appropriate instruction on personal safety, sexual abuse prevention, healthy relationships, and teen dating violence through the Alaska Safe Children’s Act. At Mat-Su Central, parents and guardians serve as their students’ primary home educators, so we invite families to share this important information with their students in the way and at the time that works best for their family.  The State of Alaska provides age-appropriate resources families can use to guide these conversations.
