Families of Mat-Su Central,

Welcome to a new school year! As always, check out our full calendar here, and keep an eye on the website for the most up to date information.

New Enrollees in 2025-26:

Do you know a family interested in attending MCS this year? To receive an allotment, new students must enroll by September 29. The enrollment form is live on the front page of our website. As of today, we have over 900 new enrollees, and over 800 have completed their ILPs.

On-Site Hybrid Learning Academy

Many of our Hybrid Learning Academy classes begin this week. You should have received enrollment confirmation for the majority of offerings. TBD course rosters will be finalized by September 19 and Skeetawk courses by October 1. For a list of classes that are still open to new student requests, visit our Offerings page. If you have questions about a specific class, please contact your teacher or advisor directly. Here are some important notes about the on-site classes (full list of FAQs is available here):

  • Supervision
    • K-8 students may NOT be in the building unless they are supervised (in class with a teacher or outside of class with a parent/guardian).
    • HS students may be in the building unsupervised provided they are not a distraction to other students/families.
  • Attendance
    • Since these courses operate on a condensed schedule, attendance is very important. If your student misses multiple classes, the teacher may give his/her spot to another student on the waitlist.
  • Food
    • Food will not be provided by MCS, so families are encouraged to make their own arrangements ahead of time.
  • Class Release Procedures
  • Parents of K-2 students should always plan to meet your children at the classroom door (make provision to arrive 5 minutes early). If there is a late pickup, a student will be guided to the front office to wait for a parent/guardian.
  • Students in 3-12 grade will be released from their classes and should know where to go. Teachers will share the designated pickup area with parents.
  • Traffic Flow
    • The front entrance loop is reserved for drop off and immediate pickups only. If you are coming into the building or waiting for a student, please use one of the designated parking spaces.
  • Remember that Mat-Su Central is not a traditional school/building, so all on-site participation is optional. Parents (home educators) are expected to partner with MCS staff to make sure kids are safe and well cared for. We thrive thanks to this unique partnership, and we want to keep it that way!

From the Accounting Department

  • Only new families need a “vendor access account” to submit a reimbursement request. Steps for setting up your account are available here
  • Did you know there is a FAQ list for allotment? You can find lots of important information there.

Vendor Highlights
