Dear Mat-Su Central families,
We are excited to announce that we have a new music teacher at Mat-Su Central School. Ruth Schwartz comes to us from the Anchorage School District with a warmth of spirit and a contagious passion for teaching music to kids of all ages. Her training includes general music, piano, and choir. As a professional cellist with an extensive background in teaching strings, her area of expertise is orchestral instruments - violin, viola, cello, and bass. She also loves coaching students of all ensembles (band, choir, and orchestra) as they prepare for auditions and performances. We are confident that she is going to be a phenomenal addition to the Mat-Su Central community.
Music classes are set to begin on Monday, September 11th. Follow the relevant link to access the MCS Music- Quarter 1 Class Schedule and Course Descriptions. With the unique late start for music classes this year, these classes are going to run from September 11th to October 18th, which is the end of Quarter 1. You and your student(s) are part of the first group to try these new offerings and give feedback once this one-month period is over. Thank you for your help in building a program you all love and are proud of!
Complete THIS SIGN-UP FORM for each student who wants to participate in music classes this quarter.
After this initial one-month period of classes ends, be on the lookout for more communication from Mrs. Schwartz regarding Quarter 2 class signups.
Some important things to keep in mind:
- If you have multiple students, please complete a separate form for each individual student.
- All classes are $50 per quarter, but some classes will be subject to additional supply costs.
- As we kick off this quarter of music classes, you are invited to an Open House from 12-3 on Friday, September 8th, from 12-3 in the Mat-Su Central Music Room to meet Mrs. Schwartz and ask any questions.
- Completing this form does not guarantee your student a place in a specific class. Mrs. Schwartz will contact you to confirm your student's enrollment as soon as possible.
